The Vapor X700 shoulder pad offers up great protection in this entry level package. The Vapor lineup is all about mobility so Bauer incorporated lightweight foams with a multi-segmented design for the agile and quick skaters.
On the X700, medium density foams reinforced with molded PE inserts make up a good level of protection. These components are found in the sternum guard, spine guard, arch supports. The kidney panels along with the front side panel and the shoulder caps are composed of low density foam.
To keep the shoulder pad feeling comfortable Bauer used a hydrophobic mesh liner which is soft to the touch and helps wick away any moisture during use. The overall construction was made to be multi-segmented so that each piece is able to move naturally with the body for an overall comfortable and low profile shoulder pad.
